We cite every statistic with its source and date, and we favour recognised UK sources — Land Registry, Halifax, Nationwide, the Bank of England, ONS, HMRC, RICS, UK Finance, Moneyfacts, Rightmove and Zoopla among them. See our data sources page for the full list. Despite our care in citing accurate, dated figures, data can be revised, delayed or superseded after publication. Calculators and tools
Our mortgage, stamp duty, affordability, LISA, rent-vs-buy, improvement-loan and boiler-cost calculators are simplified illustrative tools using standard formulae and the rates or thresholds current at time of publication. They do not constitute a mortgage or tax quotation, and actual costs from a lender, solicitor or HMRC may differ. Always confirm figures directly with the relevant provider or authority.
